There is hardly any "spying" going on. They log some things to keep track of what install and update methods work best to provide timely updates to users, but that's pretty much it.

Not using the regular Chrome or Chromium is just ridiculous if you ask me.

Plenty of reasons to block Google. For one, Google.com is a known distributor of malware, if you don't believe me.. believe Google: http://www.google.co...site=google.com ;)

Any and all reasons to "block" Google are internet induced paranoid reasons with no basis in reality

You obviously have no idea what that page is even describing, because if you did you would realize how ridiculous and ignorant that statement made you look.

So much Google paranoia here.

Welcome to Neowin. The last year the majority of this site's vocal members has turned seriously anti-Google for some reason. The others have turned seriously anti-Microsoft. A small minority remains neutral :p

Some people should have to take a test before using the internet. They really really really should.

Not using chrome isn't going to help you. even if you don't use any google services any time you use a webpage that uses google for something(pretty much any of them) anonymous data about you gets reported, while the data is anonymous, they generally are able to tie the same "anonymous" user to the data, even with multiple users on the same IP. and the data isn't all tat anonymous either.

basically whether you use Chrome or not, google has your number, so it's the least of your problems.
