Selling Cell Phone

Recommended Posts

I am selling a Nokia 6340i on eBay for use on the Cingular network in the US. Someone e-mailed me asking if a sim card was included. I do have my old sim card still and I was wondering if there is any reason why I shouldn't sell it ( security reasons or even somthing else ) I will erase all my numbers off of it and everything. I really don't know all too much about them, and thats why I'm asking. Thanks in advance for the help.

Well it wasn't pay as you go...

Heres what happend...

I already had a 6340i and I got another one through cingular for free. When I got the new one he gave me a new sim card and everything and set it up in the new phone. Since I already had a 6340i, I came home and called cingular and had them switch the service back to my old phone ( since there was no sense in me using a new phone when I already had one ) So now I have this brand new 6340i and my old SIM card. So I guess it wouldn't be smart to sell the card?

Call cingular, tell them you are selling a phone with this specific simcard number, and make sure the person won't be able to access your account. As long as they know you are selling the phone/transferring it to another person, they should be able to set it up so it is like the person buying it is getting a fresh phone. The person will have to call to activate it.

No, don't see the SIM card. It's what is used to activate the phone to that specific number and account information. You never sell the sim card because, more than likely, if you get another phone through them, you will need to use it on the new phone.
