Sir Topham Hatt
Here's the crack: Room 1: a PC with speakers. Room 2: a PC with speakers. Room 3: an amp and (5.1) speakers. The amp has an input; the PC's are networked together. I can create a VLC stream on one PC and stream it to the other so I have the same music on in the two rooms but I can't do it to the amp. But I am sick of wires. Wi-Fi is pretty reliable (although I do have the PC's wired) but I'm looking for a half cheap solution to having music in the three rooms from one stream. Are there any speakers that can accept a wireless stream, that are pretty good (IE, not cheap one speaker versions)? Thanks

sc302 Veteran Posted November 25, 2014 Veteran Share Posted November 25, 2014 Sonos would be the best solution. I am probably going to get in on that over the holidays, if my bonus comes through.
max84
Yes, Sonos is amazing. I just started my setup a few weeks ago with two Play 1 speakers in the living room.
Draconian Guppy
Or if you have an existing system already, this works like a charm http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-Wireless-Transmitter-Receiver/dp/B002BDU95A
DreadDriox
Well I would have recommended you sonos but it seems enough people have already done that. I think you know where to go now lol.
+ThePhoenix Subscriber² Posted November 25, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted November 25, 2014 Yep, agreed, Sonos are the best bet, we install the same system in some of our clients. Hell it's good enough that the boss has it rigged up at his own home so got to be ok :)
max84
It has to be said though that Sonos is a not cheap. One must be prepared to spend a lot of money, but as the saying goes...it just works.
Draconian Guppy
OP, seeing as you already had 3 sets of speakers, why not research a product (other than the one I suggested obviously) that can use your already existing hardware instead of purchase new ones? Sir Topham Hatt
Thanks :) I'll take a look at all this. It might be that I eventually get the sonos hardware but something else in the short gap.
+BudMan MVC Posted November 26, 2014 MVC Share Posted November 26, 2014 Why speed money on inferior solution? Save the money and put towards sonos ;) Sir Topham Hatt and Roger H. 2 Share
