turn disk write caching on

i wanted to kno how to turn disk write caching back on

Why do you need to do it in the registry?

knowing that this could be unhelpful but, Right click my computer--> manage -->disk managment -> (right click) properties of the drive and then policies tab

cause ive tried done it the way u just told me and i cant select anything there so i prob need to do it from the registry

Oh, well looking through the registry I wouldn't like to guess sorry. Just to confirm though, you don't have the option to select caching?

Also you said turn back on, did you turn it off (and now can't turn it back on) or change any other drive settings?

mine doesnt show that option turn it on it has 2 options but they arent selectable

Try looking in your IDE controller's property sheet. For example to change the write caching on a NForce2-based chipset with the latest drivers, you have to go into the "Nvidia NForce2 ATA Controller" properties. On RAID cards the write caching is typically controlled via the manufacturer's config utility or during the bootup process.
