SBS 2003 installing on 192mb of ram

Hey guys is there anyway to get SBS 2003 to install on 192mb of ram and why has it got a minimum ram limit

A computer with 192MB RAM is not fit enough to be a server.

To override it you need to modify TXTSETUP.SIF if my memory serves correctly.

Probably, but i dont think it would be smart...

If they made the Min. RAM limit above what you have then upgrade. They made it that low for a reason.

Also every application has a min. limit as programs just dont run perfectly on everything...

well the current server work a'ok with win2003enttrial and needs to change the os now to try something new but i just dont see whats so big on sbs2003

PS you can install it but when it gets to the bit where it sets the rest of the sftware up it gives errors

Check out the Adelaide Small Business Server Users Group at http://www.sbsusers.net/ and see what your local guys say. I would not put anything less than 512 ram in a SBS Server

well this old server only runs for a small buissness about 5 client pcs and we have tried more ram but it wont go past 192mb of ram

Then use a diff version of 2003. I know that std. and ent. only require 128. Or go 2000.

Heres an easy guide.

I just installed Windows 2003Enterprise on a system with only 96MB of ram, and its running faster then XP :happy:

Edit: It brought up no errors of any sort while installing 2003, and it hasn't brought up any yet while im running on 2003.
