well.. here comes mac mini, and with the latest release of the new imac.. whats the chances of there lower cost Emac coming out with something new and original?

Lower cost - I highly doubt it. There's a rumor that Apple might discontinue the product line due to the Mac minis debut.

Far too many people buy eMacs for Apple to even think about discontinuing the product. Considering they can get G5 processors into the iMac, I'm pretty sure they'll get it in an eMac.

That would make the Powerbook and the Mac mini look really bad when for $799 you can get a G5.

But a PowerBook or a Mac mini are considerably smaller and in the Mac mini's case, cheaper. Besides, PowerBooks will get a speed bump and a few extra features at around the same time as a possible G5 eMac.
