Recommended Posts

i just brought a mac and my homepage was for a gay website and it had all gay p0rn pictures in the pictures folder. I brought the computer brand new from a store, so it shouldnt have p0rn on it at all, right? and i am sure its not MAC OS PORN! What has happened? Maybe a p0rn gay virus infected me?

Is it that big a deal. Why can't you just delete the stuff. Now if it was kiddie porn or something now thats a different matter.

it is actually a big deal, since he was supposed to get a brand new computer but instead got a refurbished or just used mac instead.

You should return it right away.

What if he bought that computer for his little daughter or something. You shouldn't let the store get away with something like that.

Hehe, while it's funny to picture you going to the store and yelling "you had put gay porn in my new computer" I think you should certainly complain about it. Who knows what else in it is messed with. I'd get my money back and buy it from somewhere else. That's so unprofessional of them...

take it back and say that their employees have been breaking any form of 'new item' code, im sure there is something in the retail act or whatever. and after that, demand something more as you paid full dollar for a second hand item.... officially they are not allowed to 'sell' you a returned item, unless is 100% packed and unopened. if it is opened it has to go back through to the manufacturor to put their sticky tape on it.

i gaurantee you will get something back, as they have made a serious err there. and if they dont do this... and you have kids... the daily mail - or if you in america whatever paper is over there, is only a phone call away :)

Plus, his younger brother saw those pictures, went into shock and can't sleep at night. I'd say: sue them. :shifty:

    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before you try to pass someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
    • So we shouldn't have the option because of people using their laptops on battery? OK? LOL
