Based upon "NonStep" by JRomo, this VS is my own try with MSSTYLES files.

The approach was to put it as I'd like it to be, I changed colors and some minor bugs I found, but I'm still working on it.

Thanx everyone. I'm now working on a new font profile as I said. I just wanna find the right one ;)

As for color profiles, that'll take a little more while since every piece of the VS must be changed.

What I'll do first is to fix some bugs, as the "Check Box Background" (see shot) and then change its colors. I think I'll go towards more "blue" shades, what do you think?

Maybe some slate... I don't know. My time's short right now, but let's do something. What colors might suit for a third color profile? (the second would be th blue I just told you about) you tell me...

I might just be stuck with blue/blueish kinda light violet colors. I love them. But I may risk to use an orange (as the original NonStep) or red, why not.

Once again, nice you liked it. ;)

that is awsome man. did you make an olive color scheme too? please say you did. I don't have time to install it right now, but when i get home i'm make sure to do so.

Whoops

Nope, not this time at least. I'm finishing the reddish style right now, but I still must compile it. I'll take a couple more days. Let's see what happens...

Also I think I'll include a ShellStyle on the second RC.

Yeah, I think the lines on the start menu borders are a lot wider those on the wallpaper itself maybe. I'll see what I do. Obviously it would be impossible to suit everyone's likes, but I'll do my best to leave it the best I can.

Thank you very much your opinion. It counts a lot, trully ;)

can't wait to see how this turns out.

Have you fixed this yet?

I used to get this problem in my themes from using PSP7 to create my images. It only correctly writes PNG files if there is a layer set at something other than 100% opaque.

What I do is set the layer to be 99% opaque and resave, the image should display correctly then.

Tell you the truth... nope :(

Visual Styles do not work with PNGs but with BMPs. The way you make images "transparent" is by painting the background in some plain color that you specify on the script. The curious thing is that it works on other instances where "check buttons" are needed, but the one you see on the shot is really a blind spot for me...

I tried but that I couldn't fix. However, some other bugs are ready on the upcoming RC 2. Hope is ready for next saturday. I'll stop giving dates though...

I'd rather stick to a "coming soon" :D

    • There is a lot of reasons not to use Edge but faster fixes and security updates is not one of them.
    • Can't reproduce. I installed Edge, went to neowin.net > accepted the cookie consent > used menu to go to forums, everything loads and I can browse around the forums. If you can't interact with the dialog on the forums for some reason, go to the main site and accept the cookie consent there? It is true that the site will not function properly until the cookie consent is accepted or rejected,. it's a legal requirement and I also know that certain VPN/ad blockers block it, which is a user related issue and not a neowin.net problem.   This is not our cookie consent dialog. Gotta love browser hijacking... /s Edit: this may be what Californians see, I will confirm with our consent provider.
