bull****, i think it was rigged.... Bob Hartley (Avs coach) and Therien (Montreal coach) both have something against betman or the league... theyre both real good friends and i think theyre trying to send a message to the league... notice how both game 7's of mtl and col. were blow outs? 7-0 and 8-2, i mean... montreal could have easily taken it from carolina when they were up 3-2 and same with colorado... its hard to explain it over a keyboard, but if either mtl or col. were pressured into blowing the series by the league, how else are u gonna show frustration? by making it a horrible game, to lose by a big margin, lose the viewers after the first 5mins of the game and thus losing large sums of money in viewing

Now that's funny, and was Toronto told to blow all 3 games in overtime after they tied the game with less then 20 seconds left in the third period each time?

bayrider, with respect, this isn't Basketball. Every team wanted the cup, they just couldn't manage it. =-P

You are doing those teams an extreme disservice by trying to claim setup, as much as I hate Hartley I know he is above throwing a game. The Avs ran out of gas, that simple.

I had hoped for a Toronto / Detroit game but rest at ease, we will vanquish the 'canes.

In all honesty, Detroit is a huge Hockey Market, thus they have a lot of money to spend, same with the New York Rangers...

Even though a lot of these guys came to Detroit because they wanted a cup, not because of the money, many of them took paycuts just to come to Detroit...

Go Sens Go! - Oh they lost.

Go Leafs Go! - No they're out now too.

Go Canadians Go! - No they're out too.

Sigh, I wish a Canadian team was in the Finals this year. With any luck, maybe all the Canadian teams can merge into one great team with all the Canadian hockey starts then we *own* the cup for a long time.

Ahhh, well guess I'll have to say this year Go Red Wings Go!

Besides, for those Canadians that read this: http://www.thoughtviper.com/inexob/canada.html

you now know that Toronoto and Michigan are the same. So cheering for the Wings is sort of like cheering for the Leafs.

    • Close, but it is for any application starting, not just during boot time. In fact, it probably will not improve boot time at all because during a boot, the CPU is already boosting, so a pre-boost wouldn't change anything. I agree that it isn't exciting (especially considering every other OS already does it), but it is a good thing, even if they are just playing catch up.
    • Any so called performance increase will be in milliseconds, which nobody will actually notice in real world usage.
    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.
