Well i've finished the style.

This is the Plaquemod style. It's a mod from the original Plaque style which wasn't completely finished. I've bugfixed it and changed/added some things, to turn it in too a workable theme. Hope you enjoy this one. Credit goes out to the unknown author who invented the plaque style.

The author used many png transparancy which looks really good, for example the placebar buttons. Shame he didn't finished it himself.

Like AquaJack said, some color versions would be nice ;)

It does come in green too. :D Nice work DJP.

And if we search the board at themexp hard enough we may find the original artist. I remember he once posted there asking for advice. Maybe we can find him that way.

DJP ist totally right. The Plaque Style was done by Raimund who was inspired by the WOW Plasitc Effect. The reason why he never finished it is that he startet working on a web based computer game (browser game) which still is in development.

I am sure he is happy that someone finished his work. Best greez to both developers. DJP and Rai

By the way: The WOW Plastic Style is not a Visual style. It's just the blue plastic effect of the sphere for instance and was set up by Linnea Dayton and Jack Davis in their Photoshop WOW Book.

Its ok, bc the two people who agreed, are n00b'z and this is what i have to say to u.

Get a life, u dont like the man's theme dont complain, if ur so smart and know about themes and how u want them to look, then im sure you wont have a problem downloading StyleXP and modifying it for your own personal use. Now **** off and stop Posting just to get ur post rate up and instead of critizizing the guy, why dont u tell him on what he needs to improve instead of demanding. Damn some people just dont deserve an IP adress, its sad how they will pass those out to anybody these days. :p

Lol I just thought I would point out that you called them newB's but you think that you edit themes with StyleXp.. interesting..

I think that you are the one that should be quite. If they think there is a modification that would help the theme, then they can say it. You cant stop them. Without feedback, all themes would suck. Look at Sosumi. There was lots of feedback given in order to make it better and see what people like. I actually agree with these two guys. The start button is huge because it is an ad for the theme. I would like a flag also. So are you gonna call me a newb? Go ahead. Dont try and rip on them for posting their thoughts.

b.t.w. 700 posts. Go ahead and call me a newb.

i'm a newb and i'm not complaining. actually, i jsut got tired of my old user name and changed it. but, i never complained about a theme then either. the way i look at it...if a person spends his/her time creating themes, wallpapers, or icons and allows us to use them at no cost, why should i complain? i have no artistic talent and i appreciate the themers who do.

    • Close, but it is for any application starting, not just during boot time. In fact, it probably will not improve boot time at all because during a boot, the CPU is already boosting, so a pre-boost wouldn't change anything. I agree that it isn't exciting (especially considering every other OS already does it), but it is a good thing, even if they are just playing catch up.
    • Any so called performance increase will be in milliseconds, which nobody will actually notice in real world usage.
    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.
