Zenith
I can't seem to connect my 3G 10GB iPod to my 667MHz Powerbook... iPod is running latest firmware, powerbook runs 10.3.9 and has 512MB RAM. Im trying to connect via FireWire. This has happened before. I leave it for a few days and it seems to accept the iPod again. The iPod connects fine to my 800MHz flat panel iMac. Anyone else had this issue, or know any ways to fix it? Thanks p.s mods i figured that it is a issue with apple hardware rather than iPod firmware, but if its in the wrong thread, please do what needs to be done :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/319887-interesting-ipod-connection-prob/ Share on other sites
Huy
Some ideas from me: - Have you tried connecting it to another PC? (not just your iMac which seems to work) - Have you tried using USB too? - Have you tried resetting the iPod? - Is the iPod fully charged? Charge it via the AC adapter I would have to say your best bets are: Recharging it fully from the outlet not via USB or FireWire first (use the AC charger/adapter), and also you should try to reset your iPod since you have already upgraded to the latest firmware. Otherwise, I am out of ideas, sorry! P.S. iPod support now goes into the mobile devices/PDA/phone support section (whatever it is called, I don't go there often), not Mac hardware. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/319887-interesting-ipod-connection-prob/#findComment-585913199 Share on other sites
Zenith
It connects fine to other Apple computers; i haven't connet to windows computers, because i don't know anyone with a windows computer with firewire, and also the iPod is formatted for Mac so i figured that it would make cross-platform connection dificult I don't have the dock connector to USB, and if I did i would much prefer Firewire, as both my computers have only USB 1.1, which in comparison to FireWire is really slow. I tried reseting the iPod, and it still refused to connect. The iPod is a charged as it can get, so i don't think it would be a battery issue. I found that if i put the TiBook to sleep, then re-woke it it connected fine. Very strange... I think it could be a FireWire connectivity issue, either with the physical port, or the firmware driving it. I'll get that checked out. Thanks for the help, anyway.
