PSP Firmware 2.0 Released

Recommended Posts

Being honest, the homebrew community will eventually work out how to keep up with sony changing the encryption key - personally when that happens, ill be interested - until then, the benefits outway anything that the community so far has released.

yep. Once they get homebrew going on 2.00 I'll update. Just hope I don't buy a new game that forces update. :pinch:

Some day I am sure there will be hack for 2.0 too! :)

Or not? Any experts here, what do you think?

Anyway, this Update is NO GOOD for US, it's ONLY for Japan!

When will US get the new firmware?

A lot of people on the Sony forums updated US PSPs with the Japanese firmware with no problems.

I grabbed the one posted on IGN, which I assume is the same firmware, and it works just fine.

I'll do it after more people try it, it worries me though that this is intented for Japan not US.

What does Sony representives say about US PSPs using Japan firmware?

Looks worth it to me. They'll work around it eventually and the time will allow the homebrew apps to improve even more in the mean time.

Im impressed, it's got some good features.

Better CSS support than Microsoft Internet Explorer, XHTML, JavaScript, Tabbed Browsing.

I would suggest NOT using the Japanese upgrade on a US PSP. You never know what flags might be in there that might prevent FUTURE upgrades from working. I'm surprised they allowed an upgrade to run on a system from another region.

I'm not saying that it WILL fail, I'm saying that it MIGHT in the future. Just be patient.

Mike
