Anyone who knows anything about motorcycle racing knows about rossi, basicly the greatest ever. he is going to F1 QUOTE Valentino Rossi is headed to Formula One in 2007 after his one-year contract with Yamaha expires at the end of 2006.
That’s the conclusion drawn from published interviews with key Ferrari personnel at last weekend’s Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
Ross Brawn, Ferrari’s technical director, told the Associated Press that the Gauloises Yamaha rider could test as often as once a month beginning this winter. Rossi has already tested the Ferrari three times at the company’s test track in Fiorano.
"He is already as quick as a F-1 driver in the slow corners," Brawn told the AP on Friday. Read the whole thing Here

I'm curious to see what he can do in a F1. It's a very bold move for Ferrari. What matters to me, though, is Barrichelo on BAR next year.

It would be great to have a person like Vale in F1, he would add that extra charismatic touch thats been missing since Ayrton Senna was killed. Hes a natural born winner, and he would not be taking a step like this if he knew he couldn't win the F1 championship within 1-2 seasons. In the first test this year in a Ferrari F1 car he was only 0.8 sec slower than Schumachers record time at the test track in Modena

Well after reading this same thread on another board most have called BS on this. I hope he stays past 07 so he can kick ass on the 800ccs.
When he wins next year it will make him the only championchip winning on the 990cc bikes.

That's crazy. While he has pretty much mastered everything at MotoGP, I don't see him moving to 4 wheels. Of course, since it would allow Nicky Hayden to maybe actually win a race on non-US track...I hope he does

i agree, but motogp bikes now go well over 200mph.... Ferrari said he can test the car whenever he likes (every couple of months) if he moves in 2007 thats plenty of time to learn most about the car. Ferrari are ditching Rubens at the end of the season, the guy they are replacing him with was only given a one year contract so all the signs are there to make it happen.
