Why does USD 50 = 80 CAD according to Microsoft?

So i know my xbox live subscription is coming due soon and i'm thinking i wont renew because with tax its cost $91 CAD, so i wait it out and dont do anything.

First off Iwas under the assumption that the 12 Month Xbox Live started kit did not renew itself, because in the billing option it did give me the option to renew my subscription. Why even do that if they are going to do something rediculas like automatically renewing you. So I call up xbox and they tell me thats not true fine whatever. I have been looking the past few weeks at the price of xbox 360 live gold and noticed it was going to be $60 great finnaly a nice correct convertion. And I checked the US prices and they are allready the same ($50).

So I call up xbox and I asked them about it they say the price is going to be the same however I keep in mind the other side of the phone call is in america. They do not tell me the price but I say that my local EBGames lists it at $60 CAD. They contine to say the price will stay the same without saying canadian or the amount. I say that $50 USD = < $60 CAD, they agree that it is an incorrect conversion but there is nothing they are doing about it. So I tell them that I am asking a reletive in ths states to buy a 12 month card and tell the the code over the phone. They say fine, but the point is: How does 60 change into 80? Whats going on here, and why wont they just take off $20 off my bill (which I asked them too and they said they couldn't)?

50$ USD does NOT equal 80$ CND

edit: from xe.com 50.00 USD United States Dollars = 58.6082 CAD Canada Dollars

so they should charge 60-65 MAX
