New Head Unit, Subwoofer & Amplifer

Recommended Posts

Pioneer makes good stuff, IMO, nice choices.

I would only say that the enclosure depends on the type of bass you want that sub to produce. I see that's a sealed enclosure, which is good for produces tight crisp bass, whereas a ported enclosure will produce a more "throaty" bass. Also, by having a sealed box, the subwoofer becomes slightly less efficient due to acoustic pressure inside the box, and acting on the sub. But it would work, if you wanted the latter type of bass. Just tossing up two different versions there, but I'm guessing if the sub comes with a sealed box, then it would be good to put it together the way it comes from the factory, lol..

Well, good luck either way, happy jamming..

Bass that doesnt disort :p

Erm... I like low bass...but not so its sloppy and slow. To be honest, im not 100% Sure. I just want to give my system a slight boost, bass wise.

Also, box wise I could always buy a Ported enclosure and swap it out really.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Cant wait to buy this!

EDIT

According to the Pioneer website, its recommend sealed enclosure (Litres) 24 - 49.6 so maybe it is best in a Sealed one.

I don't want a phat system.

I just want to add an Amplifer and Subwoofer to give my OEM system a little more richness.

The head unit because my current one doesnt like CD's much anymore so ill get that one which plays MP3's which is handy.

Holders? The subwoofer and amplifer will just fit into my boot and be secured down... and the OEM head unit swapped out

good choices, staying with the same brand ensuers good quality...that sub will give you enough oomf to be heard but not to much to be over done
