App launcher Gadget

Okay, heres a little question for anyone who knows the answer.

When I saw the Previews of Windows Vista on the site, there was a spectacular looking gadget which really caught my attention. I tried looking for it and theyve obviously changed it now, but many of you probably saw it and ive posted it below. Its the one split into 4 quadrants with application images...

Now, I have found a similar gadget here:

However, theres one slight difference. In the Preview one, which I really liked, it was split up into 4 quadrants, where each tile was a decent size. The gadget which has been developed is rather small and when you have 4 apps, it goes across, and turns out to not look particularly nice.

so....my question....Is there a gadget which looks or is the original one which was previewed? If not...anyone working on anything?

Those gadgets, and the mail one too, were never released. Therefore all the current gadgets that look like them are just replicas, not modified originals.

Microsoft need to release better official gadgets because the ones on offer are generally below average. I too was looking forward to a similar app launcher for the Sidebar but I agree that the one that's available is a little fugly.

If every gadget is below average, doesn't that by definition, make them an average sidebar gadget? :rolleyes:

i use app launcher v3. it's available on the gallery.
