Just curious if anyone has gotten an OSD for the volume in Vista? I have one by default on XP MCE 2005 and I'd like to get one like that for Vista, but haven't seen anything. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks.

Its part of the sound drivers. A lot of people have the same problem that the OSD does not work with vista. Check for driver updates and if not you'll probably have to wait.

The only volume OSD that I've seen that works is the one on the Logitech G15 keyboard.

That's the one I use for my laptop. Works perfectly on Windows XP, haven't tested it on Vista. It adds a couple more things, like dimming the display, but those only work on the original model. Give it a try, and tell me what you think. |

Get 3RVX
http://matt.malensek.net/software Best Volume OSD so far. Edit: Forget what I said, stupid Vista make it not compatible and making it running in XP compatibility don't work anymore since some update. Sorry. http://matt.malensek.net/index.php?r=3RVX_Vista_Information This post has been edited by Nienor: May 6 2007, 11:54 |

Thanks for the replies. I could've sworn I actually saw it work at one point during the Beta period, but that was a while ago. As much as I'd like to get a G15 keyboard though (I actually really do want one), I'm not ready to drop the cash on it yet lol.

I never tried the compaq driver, I was at work all day yesterday, and about to head out back to work again. I do know that my dell XP drivers don't work though.

Right now I just want to get it to work on my desktop. I have a logitech multimedia keyboard with the volume control scroll wheel. It'd just be nice to see the volume display again.

You can always use the Microsoft keyboard drivers, just select a standard MS keyboard as your keyboard type and it'll work (in my case, on an Acer laptop).

I changed the registry key to disable it, but it's still there. |
