First and foremost I'd like to thank the whole AP team for their hard work and dedication to their project. They are doing nothing less than a fantastic job with AP and it only gets better with every release.

I'd like to draw your (all the people waiting for the next AP) attention to a little comparison with another freeware project . It goes to show that even with the numerous delays that the AP has been getting lately, it's by far better than what some people think.

There's this mIRC script called nnscript. The dev behind the script released a new version every 5months... sometime a year ! They had an horde of devoted users that wished nothing but the best for the script... they would "advertise" the script as THE best mIRC script available, ever. But what stunned me is how often they would give status updates to their community. A single News Post every 2-3months... with close to no information as to when the next release would be available. They would keep saying "soon" and sometime, even after 5months nothing new would be posted on the frontpage.

It was the same exact situation as with AutoPatcher. There would be people who whine about the lack of updates, delays, etc. And on the other hand, people who would tell them to just wait and go play outside a little.

The point i'm trying to make here with this comparison is that the devs behind this project (AP) are doing an amazing job ! Seriously, there might be delays... but sh!t happens guys. I'm not a coder but you never know what bug might pop out of nowhere, putting in jeopardy the whole release timeline already in place. These guys are actually posting DAILY on the forum... giving detailed information about what's going on. The problems they are facing, their real life that OBVIOUSLY takes a pretty good amount of their time.

Question is: WHAT MORE COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT ?

Some people are really complaining with their mouth already full.

They could charge for this wonderful tool, but it's priceless !

They could leave you in limbo with no news about it's status, but they do, everyday !

They could also work on one and only AP flavor, but no, they release every freakin' flavor available to please every OS users.

Finally, I just want to tell the devs behind the project that I have never, ever seen in my whole life, such dedication over a project thats handed out for free. You guys work your asses off to release a tool to the general public... and I'm pretty sure you sometime (if not often) put REAL LIFE stuff aside for the sake of AP and it's community.

It's a shame to see how some people can be sellfish sometime.

Autopatcher is a work of art that should be treated with RESPECT !

Keep up the good work guys, 5.6 looks amazing *drool*.

I didn't want to start a new thread and my comments follow on from above.....

It will be ready when it is ready. All the postings in the world will not make it go faster. The guys have said they are working on it. Stop complaining and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting and posting.

I do hope it will be out soon, but continuously asking about the progress doesn't help.

I'm not trying to start an argument or really disagree with you too much. I think you have seen my posts so you should know I run a freeware project also. So I completely understand.

However, AP is normally released on a monthly basis. I think that is why people continue complain. That expectation is there. Releases have been canceled for the past 2 months now and I really hope that doesn't happen with May.

i understand there's an expectation but it's free, therefore there's no obligation for support or even a steady release schedule.

In short, they do what they can, when they can. And I admire their work and dedication on such a project. All they have as an obligation is keep people informed if they want to keep their userbase. My hat goes off to them.

Your project is very nice also I must say :)
