ripped without permission

Hi I didn't take anything from your work but I can see you were the first to make something like this so I have given you a special thanks in the readme. I just wanted to release something to make it bearable for vista users who hate the aero look, cheers!

Nice job but I see no need for this thanking to him. You didn't do anything that required the thanking.

You are right but ppl get angry easily and I do not want to cause a fuss. People can do whatever they want with my work since most of the images, look and feel are Microsoft property anyway. I should give credit to Microsoft. :D

You don't really have any room to talk in my opinion. All you do is change colors. You add nothing original to the "themes" you've "made".

You add nothing at all actually and you take the slightest amount of criticism too seriously and get angry too easily. Everyone I've ever seen accuse someone of stealing a theme from them always showed proof to back up what they say. You can't just enter a thread and shout RIPPED WITHOUT PERMISSION without offering proof it's your work. Doesn't work that way.

If you're wanting to be taken seriously as a themer then do something original and it would help if you drop the attitude you always have when people say something to you about your "work". Also, don't try the "Vista is hard to skin" excuse either because Vista's been done for over a year now and there's plenty of completely different and original themes out for it.

EDIT: I just saw your classic theme and it's NOTHING at all like this persons theme. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you didn't even bother to actually look at the persons theme. You saw Vista Classic in the thread title and jumped in to shout RIP because they share similar names is what I think.

You're not the only person to make a classic theme for Vista and name it Vista Classic

ROLF, for a start i have taken the time to look closely, and some elements are ripped, but to be honest its no problem. Shouting? Screaming? Anger? I have havnt done either of those things, so is really ironic to say i havnt taken the time to look where as some people have taken my post out of context.

Saying i have no room to talk, and i have done nothing? well these are just personal attacks when infact i gave months of my life just simply teaching and helping others. I soon realised my themeing wasnt up too scratch so turned my hand to making tutorials.

But Ive just been reminded why i left all forum communitys. Im not going to return.

i wish someone would move away from the standard Aero theme and create something totally original. There were/are so many decent themes available for xp, would be great to see some of those reworked to take advantage of the new dwm features etc.

Indeed I like it. Nice to have the original one refreshed. But geez, make the Orb go away, make it die! Kill it! Kill it! Kill the Orb! Kill the Orb...!

Sorry, got a little excited. Just wanted to express my feelings about a start button which overlaps content and sticks out of the task bar.

I agree with this fully, the its a cool them though =]

True true, there would be many possibilities now with DWM. Well I guess more original themes will start to appear eventually.

If you've ever tried to make a theme for vista you'd know Microsoft have designed the theme alot differently than they did for XP. It is extremely difficult to alter shapes and sizes of things, ie the _ [] X buttons.

    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before you try to pass someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
    • So we shouldn't have the option because of people using their laptops on battery? OK? LOL
