So my girlfriend wanted me to drive her to the Roman Catholic Cemetary so she can visit her deceased grandmother. So I drive there and let my girlfriend do her stuff. I got really bored really fast, so I started walking around looking at the graves, interested to see which ones are really old and which ones are recent, interesting names, etc... then I walk by a grave and notice its Croatian. I'm like "nice"... but then I looked closer.... it had the Croatian flag on it and a U. Quick glance and it sent chills down my spine. So I started walking some more.. and then I saw more of the symbol and more and more and more... to the point where it became really common. I was like WTF!! Now many people would not know this, because this is one of the forgotten issues and many of you are wondering what I am talking about. Well let me show you.

The symbol is this;

Ustashian_U_with_coat.png

It stands for Ustase. For more information, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usta%C5%A1e

That is the reason it sent chills down my spine. Then I was extraordinarily surprised that they were even allowed to put this on the grave. Considering Canada and my country (Yugoslavia) were fighting against the Axis in WW2, these graves (in my view) simply give the finger to all the allies.

So I started finding out how prevalent this is. Check this out: http://www.juliagorin.com/wordpress/?p=914

To give u a better glimpse, here

It is amazing that this is going on, sure there are some people, but this is HUGE. Didn't these people learn ANYTHING from history? You can claim its a "free country" but that doesnt give u the right to do whatever you want, especially spread hate.

This opened my eyes this weekend that I felt I just had to share it.

no point, i think its allowed because nobody really knows what it is and there is probably less than 20 million people in the world that actually know it.

That's probably exactly the reason. Best common example is Spike Milligan's grave, where he couldn't write "I told you I was ill" on it, but had to have it in Latin, as people wouldn't be able to read it.

There are some people who still believe in failed doctrines like socialism. Believe it!

Really? Because socialism is what its making China a first level country, economically.

But well, Im not socialist nor I support it.

Most of these people don't know what are they actually "following". They just do it because they are noticed in public. Hate? Very little... Ignorance? Oh yes, that's the problem.

And that link (http://www.juliagorin.com/wordpress/?p=914)

is just insulting my country and my people.

"as happened in Croatia?s 1990s war for independence. "

yeah, you were here? Bombs were falling on your house? Lost somebody in war maybe? Lived with somebody who had to kill someone (enemy on your territory defending your country) and then suffering from PTSP syndrome...

I'm not saying that there were no crimes.. But it's just like saying "allies were bad too, just remember Dresden" (google it if you don't know)

and I don't get it, the picture with text below "?For the Homeland, we are Ready.?

that's bad somehow? If that's true, I wouldn't be living in democracy now and I certainly wouldn't be writing this.

Just to let you know, 70% of the European Union is Socialist, even Canada is socialist. The government does not represent it, but the system does. Socialism doesnt mean you are strictly "communist" in any way. A socialist country can be a "capitalist" country as well, its just defined by the services and benefits that it provides to the citizens, such as free healthcare, schooling, dental, job security, etc. So the system is a mix between Capitalism and Communism

it is called a mixed system.

You don't think it should be "allowed"? Who are you to say that? I think such feelings are childish. Also, its not as if every single thing about the Nazis was evil. They were our enemies in WWII. Demonizing them is just propaganda and brainwashing.

People who remember life under the SS would disagree with you there but yes, the japanese committed far worse attrocities particularly in occupied territories. The fact that so many died in Nazi concentration camps and some after undergoing horrific experiments is the reason why they are considered evil. Plus this happened in Europe where we thought we were all civilised.

I agree, the atrocities were instigated by the leadership. the ordinary infatrymen, airmen and sailors were the exact same as the allies and serving their country.

None of the communist countries that have ever been in existence have been fair to their populace, there was always a secret police enforcing the state's will etc, and yet you still use the hammer and sickle in your signature. Hypocrisy much?

the majority of atrocities carried out by the Germans in WW2 were carried out explicitly by the SS, not the standard soldiers. You didn't get into the SS by accident, you knew what you were there for and fully endorsed what they were doing. You can't really compare this to being a general soldier following orders.
