Evera
When I run a DX10 game and have Vista MCE open in my second monitor, I can play the game for a few minutes before my entire computer freezes. I don't get a BSOD or anything. The sound does the repetitive broken record loop, and my computer is no longer responsive. The screen is frozen at whatever it had before it froze. Caps lock and keyboard buttons don't work either. I then tried running Guild Wars, and I could play for an extended period of time. Crysis and a few other dx10 games froze my computer. I added my TV tuner the same time I added my second monitor, so that could also be a possibility. They're both hooked up to my single 8800GTX. I'm running: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ stock Asus P5W DH Deluxe nVidia 8800GTX with latest drivers Hauppauge HVR-1250 Vista x64 Ultimate 4x1GB Corsair XMS2 RAM Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/635538-8800gtx-dx10-tv-tuner-freeze/ Share on other sites

Andre S. Veteran Posted May 10, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 10, 2008 Well try updating the drivers, all the boring usual software stuff... If's not software related then I'd say the power supply is the most likely culprit, what is the brand and model? Evera
Might be. Occasionally, the screen becomes unresponsive but the sound keeps playing. The keyboard and mouse are also both unresponsive, but every time the TV stops with both the picture and sound, regardless of whether the game's sound stayed. The system as a whole, though is unresponsive. Other overheats I had screw up the rendered images I'm thinking of doing a completely clean install, as I have 2 hdds, and I'm thinking of putting both in raid0. Evera
Can you give me a bit more information about the subject? I only get these problems when I use the two in conjunction.
