[?] Window Addons

Dear all,

I am currently starting to build a little windows addon. It's all new to me and difficult to find out where to start.

Ill just start with the most important question. Which platform/language is suitable to build an application for Windows Vista that adds several new functions to it?

My next and last one for this time. Is it possible to place a program icon next to the time/volume icon? So the tray area, but not as an tray icon ;)

I'd say C# or WPF.

You can minimize applications to the tray, but that's what a tray icon is. :unsure:

About the tray icon, I understand what you mean :laugh: , it's bit weird but I was wondering if it was doable.

In the .NET languages there is a component that makes placing an icon in the system tray VERY easy. Select the component, add your icon and run your app.
