SATA HDD Problems

Hey guys,

I recently bought a 1000GB SATA HDD. It is from Seagate, and I've been having a few issues with it.

When I cold boot the machine, the drive isn't recognised, however, when I reboot, the drive is fully recognised and works like nothing has happened. The BIOS is up-to-date, and the model number of my Gigabyte Motherboard is GA-K8NF-9 (revision 1).

Yes and No.

I don't know if your BIOS has this but look for HDD delay for X seconds and try increasing that as the BIOS from a cold boot might be to fast before the HDD is running up to speed.
