Hey i'm having a problem with my laptop it seems the wireless card is extremely slow

its a 802.11g Mini Card Wireless Adapter manufactured by Ralink

i can't seem to find the issue its not the router as i've gone through 2 of them

on my main computer (from microsoft) i can download at 1MB/sec

however on the laptop which is near the router with 54Mbps signal strength the most it can download from microsoft (of the same file) is 12KB/sec (at best)

this is the case with other websites aswell does anyone know of an issue with this card that could cause the problem and is it fixable with software or do i need to use an external wireless card

cheers

Problem resolved!

For others the problem was that the winsock settings were corrupted/tampered with the laptop is now functioning normally my mate must of played around with it and did some damage (or spyware related)

i used the following tool (sorry if linking to software is not allowed however its a very useful tool =) )
