Insomniac: Resistance Graphics Have Improved

Recommended Posts

Insomniac have a podcast known as the Full Moon Show where they chat about the recent happenings in the Insomniac world. In the latest podcast they get into Resistance 2, and I?ll cut you guys the slack of having to listen to an hour long podcast, and cut to the chase. At 36 minutes in they mention the singleplayer levels, and how the textures have significantly improved since the previous week. They even mention that in a level known as Iceland some rooms actually give you the feeling of being cold. That?s not good, because with this title coming out in November, I will already be freezing my ass off in four feet of snow! For more graphical goodies at 54 minutes in they confirm that they have received complaints about the graphics in certain multiplayer levels, and that they will be sure to polish them before release. This is always great confirmation to Resistance fans that Insomniac is ensuring that every level is polished down to the last corner. If you are manly enough to watch the hour long podcast then be sure to visit their site below.[/quotFull Moon Show<Source: Gamextract

Good to hear this as I havent been impressed with the visuals of the MP level I have been playing in the current Beta. So nice one Insomniac and I look forward to seeing these improvements.

There was a recent batch of screenshots released (can't remember if they were MP or SP) but they looked a hell of a lot better than what they showed previously. Really impressive lighting used actually.

I take it they must tone down the gfx for online play Scazza? Or are your standards pretty high?:p

I wouldn't say my standars are high, but there are alot of really good games out there. I found with RFOM2, that they werer really bright (alot of bloom effect with the sun) and also the textures weren't overlly great.

I am yet to see these new screenshots and i don't know how recent the code we are using for the beta is.

But like you said, the graphics for MP must be toned down and it is in most games no doubt compared to the SP.

Game is alot fun, but still some work is needed (which is why it is a beta) :)

Yeah, I wouldn't exactly call RFOM a gorgeous game, it always looked last-gen to me, but there has definitely been a step up in gfx recently. It's still not GOW2/KZ2/Crysis, but gfx don't always make a game :p

As for the beta, did they announce if they would be sending out anymore codes? I didn't get one first time around :(

Oh yea, the gfx aren't what make a good game, they can help but still......

As for the beta I have no idea, I just got my code sent to me for being apart of the Sony Beta Test Programme.......So unfortunately I have no idea when they will make any more codes available.

All i want is the K2 or LBP Beta :p

    • Can you read? I've said I'm willing to pay more for a notchless (no notch) 3:2 screen.
    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • make your own notch - it's not that hard

Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers.
