Dead Space is only a week away!

All of my excitement of seeing Event Horizon for the first time is coming back. can't wait for this.

I'm a little hesitant about the real-time menu but whatevs. This game is already getting GOTY nods.

what I find most interesting is their re-invention of the HUD, where your energy level is indicated by the lights on your spine, your ammo located on your gun, and cut-scenes used as holograms.

They've implemented most of the backstory in the environment and backgrounds, similar to Portal, Bioshock, etc

Basically there idea of the HUD/Story/Cut Scenes is the way games should be. However, it requires effort to do.. so most games just dont bother :p

My wife's gonna hate me.

Wives do seem a bit redundant at this time of the year hey. Good for bringing food to the PC mind. :p

Anyway this games one I might look at in a few months. I haven't followed it but it does seem pretty cool but what with half a dozen games coming out now too it doesn't yet factor into my list. Hope it's a good game but as it may be one to grab in Jan/Feb.

I have to admit it does look very nice indeed, but I cannot dismiss the one thing that I notice in all of the game play trailers thus far, and that is it looks very clunky when using the weapons. Hopefully I am wrong, but this is one of those games that I will definitely have to try a demo first before committing myself to a purchase, especially after my recent splurge on building a new PC :)

Does anyone know if a demo is forthcoming? Major Nelson's site hasn't mentioned anything :(

:laugh: It's nice to know I am not the only one who has to deal with it, as I have literally been prepping my wife for the upcoming holiday gaming season for at least the past month now.

It started off as small little reminders, like;

"Remember, The Holidays mean lots of games for me to play."

Then I eventually made much clearer statements, for example today I said out of nowhere;

"Dead Space. SOCOM. Little Big Planet. Far Cry 2. Fallout 3. 5 games I want to play, and unbelievably all 5 are coming out in just the next 2 weeks!!"

So I think that made it pretty clear what my intentions are whenever I have free time.

Dead Space is Game #1 on my list of incoming games by default as it has the earliest release date of the bunch.

It also helps I am actually quite looking forward to it as well. They have talked it up to be scary, and I want it to definitely deliver.

I'll be honest, I hadn't even heard about this game until I read the IGN review yesterday. It sounds amazing from what I can tell, and I'm about to watch the GameTrailers preview that was linked in the OP.

I'm looking forward to it for sure (Y)

Thanks :)

Also doing well here - http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/...?q=dead%20space

(I prefer Metacritic)

Well ****, the PC release date isn't until October 20. WTF EA?

That's only a week longer, what seems to be the issue? At least its not months.

    • This 4K webcam from Acer is now only $59.99 by Taras Buria Those looking for an affordable, high-resolution webcam from a reputable manufacturer can check out the latest deal from Acer, which puts its 4K webcam at a solid price. Thanks to a 14% discount, you can buy this all-metal 4K webcam from Acer for just $59.99. Despite the affordable price tag, the webcam has a pretty large 1/2" CMOS sensor manufactured by Sony. Apart from its size, it supports additional conveniences, such as high dynamic range and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). Plus, the camera ensures you do not have to buy additional audio equipment, as it comes with two built-in high-sensitivity microphones, a built-in background noise filter, and the ability to pick up your voice from up to 2.5 meters away. Acer is not cheaping out on materials, and the webcam is enclosed in a more premium metal case, which is also good at heat dissipation (high-resolution cameras can get quite hot). And to make sure no one is peeping at you when the camera is in use, there is a magnetic cover also made of metal. Additional conveniences include an LED status indicator and a built-in mount that lets you place a camera on a tripod.
