eeeek! its a yellowjacket too!!

Better than the random spiders I find around here :|

And I have arachnophobia.

Funnily enough, bees and wasps actually avoid me. No joke. I can swat at them in the air and they don't get aggravated with me, or if they do, they still leave me alone. I've only ever been stung twice, both times because a bee got stuck in my shoe. Otherwise, they just avoid me like the plague. It's really weird, but I love it

It's because the weather during the summer wasn't the best and now that the sun has finally shown itself (in October of all times) they are all coming out of their slumber.

Just swat at them once or twice and they'll leave you alone. Bee's won't bother you unless you annoy them without provocation, as they know they've got one chance to defend themselves, but they have to give their life for that defensive quality. Poor bastards!

It might have been attracted to all that hair on your bed... or hell going by the color of that thing, it could have though it was the Queen wasp!!

My window at the moment is being attacked by ladybirds not wasps...suppose that's better?

I have wasps all year round, horrible things. They get caught in the net curtains I have on my windows which is horrible having to clean them and pick them out :x

Council have been informed but no one takes responsibility since they sold the flats to a housing association. I paid ?40 for an exterminator who could find no nest, he just said I'm unlucky:((

There is a constant battle outside my window too with the spiders and the wasps, spiders building their webs and the wasps sort of bombarding them all the time, I cannot open my windows at all because of it:(( My windows get cleaned every 2 weeks (I cannot do them myself as I live in an upstairs flat) and the windowcleaner says it is only my windows like it, all the others have webs but not as bad as mine:((

Off topic ...

However I can live with that as it's infinitely better than the mice I had in my last flat, they got everywhere, including nesting in the drawers on my bed where the bed clothes were. Again the council did nothing and the "mouse man" I paid for couldn't do anything as they were in flats and he would have to do every single one of them. The flat before that one was infested with beetles and those little armadillo type crawly things which again where everywhere, so I have it lucky now I suppose:pp

I've only ever been stung twice, both times because a bee got stuck in my shoe.

That's why I always smack my shoes together upside down before putting them on. Well, not for bees though, but spiders and whatever bad things could be in there. :p

Anyhow, check your room, closet, and window areas for any kind of nest. If you open your windows at all, make sure the screen properly covers your window keeping big bugs like that out.

Oh, and get that pubic hair cleaned up before taking a picture next time.

I'm not going to be pedantic here, but wasps are hard motherf**ers; I doubt you could use an HDD.

I tried to kill one when I was about twelve, using cheap aftershave (in a glass). Give it ten minutes chill time on the carpet, and up it got and wandered away.

Incredible.

I'm not a fan of wasps either. As a child, I was stung by two wasps on two separate occasions. There's something worse than a wasp that could possibly scare the crap out of anyone. It's called a "Sun Spider". They live in some parts of Australia, the US, and Egypt. How did I manage to find one you ask? Well, I was with a friend of mine and we went out to go pick up another friend from his workplace. We got there and went inside the factory which processes a lot of timber. Sure enough, we find our friend and he asks us to wait outside for him. Instead of going outside right away, we (as idiots) decided to look around the various stacks of timber. As we're looking around we see something run across the floor and we follow it. My friend and I screamed when we saw what it was. Never in my life have I experienced such fear from a spider. The thing had to be the size of my hand or bigger. Just thinking about it makes me shiver. Click here to see an image of it. Be warned though, it isn't for the faint of heart. I'd rather have tarantulas crawl on me than to see that spider again. At least tarantulas crawl slowly... that spider scurried across the floor so fast that I had trouble keeping my eye on it.

And in case you were wondering, I don't have any fear of any insect/bug except for that spider. You can call it "Sun Spiderphobia".

Ladybirds!

Must resist urge... I want to see it, but I'll be freaked out for an hour at least :|

It's an ugly mother ... even I didn't like it and spiders are my second favourite bug!

Pfft. You little girls haven't lived until you've watched a hornet drag a dead sparrow across your back yard. (The one I saw wasn't as big as the one in this pic, but it was still damn large for an insect.)

No, I don't know why it was dragging a dead bird across my yard. Yes, it scared the living crap out of me when I walked up to see what the hell was moving in the leaves.

Just a note: That hair/fur belongs to my dog. I have to clean it every day :<

It turned out it wasn't dead, i noticed it crawling across my bed after a while (Was waiting for parents to wake up so i could use the hoover). So i shat myself, finished a glass of water and trapped it, then flushed it down the toilet.

    • Did Labour lose big? They had losses there is no doubt. However let's look at the reality. The conservatives have 168 councils I believe. Labour have 113 and Reform...38. That's a lot of growth for Reform granted. But that is not a wipeout, Reform don't have the majoring in fact at 76 I believe the Liberal Democrats have nearly twice the councils Reform do. So I am thinking there is a lot more noise than signal going on here. Now then let's talk about the law. It's an age restriction. We do it for cigarettes, **** and alcohol. This idea that some kids will find there way around it so it's not worth even trying is really really sad. Hell we can't stop every murder. Should we stop trying there too? That is the logical conclusion.
