Need Case Recommendations

Recommended Posts

I'm looking into getting a new case for a future build. I figure the holiday shopping season might make way for some deals.

Qualifications (in order of necessity):

  1. at least 6 spots for HDDS
  2. QUITE QUITE QUITE. This is going in my Living room, and my current case's fans are killing me.
  3. Around $100US. No more than 125.
  4. Easy to work with, inside.
  5. Lightweight*/easy to carry (handles or such)

(yes, I realize this sort of runs counter to #2)

Above all, functionality trumps "style"

the good thing abotu this case is the 4 fans... i know you want it to be silent and that's exactly why you need more fans... you can lower the speed of each fan till you can barely hear it.... and since there is 4 of them, your case will still be cool.

once you move this to another room and you want to overclock a bit you can crank up the fans and make a little more noise.

I'd say the Antec P182

Wait for Black Friday.

You know, that's the case I've had in mind for a while, but it is well out of my price range. :(

Do you know where there might be Black Friday deals on a P182?

Thermaltake Armor?
Out of my price range. Mail-in-rebates never have worked out for me; I don't trust them.

Yeah, I'm aware that that is the idea, but the 900 doesn't have a built in fan controller, right? That would cost extra I think...
