Do you have a 64-bit or a 32-bit OS?

I got a new Core2Duo machine with 4GB of RAM, and since I had 32-bit Xubuntu already handy and burned to CD, I just installed that.

I'm thinking about getting more RAM after Christmas (unless I get as a gift for Christmas) and that will drive me to bother installing 64-bit.

64Bit here, my hardware's all compatible, and the only downside (if you can call it that) is lack of 16bit support, not a big loss.

i use the 32bit edition of Vista. I may as well format a HD and run a 64 bit. That would be good. Or does it still lack drivers?

I'm no tech guru , and i really dont know the significant difference between 32bit and 64bit, but I do heavily multi-task and encode videos and such.... not that this is of any relevance to the topic.... :p

Both my XP Pro and Vista Ultimate are 32-bit. Sadly, with the latter being one I bought from the university that didn't come with a 64-bit disk, I'm not eligible to get a 64-bit version from Microsoft (I tried). :( Oh well, I'll be sure not to make that mistake with Windows 7... :D

Haha I have 32bit as well.

This is probably because more Neowinians are comp-savvy and prefer the latest.

I wont need 64bit for a while.... maybe 1 year, maybe 2?
