Adobe Premiere Elements 7 project presets?

Question

I can't find the 'project presets' when I want to create a new video project; I am stuck with DV NTSC 4:3. I tried a repair and even an uninstall+cleanup+install as recommended in the Adobe forums, but I still don't see the project presets.

Are they on the content DVD? I don't want to install 3GB of crap on my computer just to install the project presets. Can someone help me out here?

Thank you.

Download the official tryout version from Adobe.com (670MB).

Run the ".exe" file to extract the files from the ".7z" archive. You do not need to proceed with the install of the trial versions.

Find a file called "Settings.zip" in the extracted "CoreTemplates" folder.

Unzip this "Settings.zip" file (preserving the folder structure) into:

Vista x64: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0\settings

Vista x86: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0\settings

You should end up with a load of de_DE, en_US, etc folders within the "Settings" folder.

When you next start Premeiere Elements, you should have a full set of presets available. If you do not, change the capitalisation of "Settings" folder. Mine works with a lower case "s" but some have reported that they needed a capital "S".
