So, I've created a forum....now what?

I was a bit bored so I thought I'd create a forum on my webserver using phpbb and add various mods to it and, now that I've done a pretty decent job with it, I'm wondering if I can actually make use of it.

I don't really have a subject matter (I've created a bunch of sub-forums etc as part of my testing) so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas?

I'm pretty much only interested in pc/console gaming/football and books :p and those kinds of forums are vry common as it is.

In this day of age, it's extremely hard to start a forum and expect it to be used ,there's so many of them and so much competition. You need to draw them in via exclusivities and get a visitor base, e.g. people who will regularly visit and help. Better to start with a main site and using the forum for chatting.

Yeah, it's really difficult to attract members to new forums. Generally the main structure to grow is to keep a focused forum and then let it expand into more topics. For ex: Keep it focused to gaming and then let it grow to media, football etc.

I'd considered that but I just cannot get into WordPress or its themes system - it literally boggles me :laugh:

I'm on the look out for a simple blogging system which I can integrate into a current design but I've not found anything that fits my bill so far. I want something I can basically call into an existing page using includes which also allows comments.
