Can anyone point me to some reading material regarding the anatomy of a web form submission? I'm curious about the process, e.g. the format of the POST data sent to the server, the workflow of the data once it reaches the server etc.

The only reading material I can find is which HTML tags I need to use to create a web form... a little too high level for me.

What exactly is it you are trying to do? I am not clear on exactly what you are looking for.

Download Fiddler (google it, I'm lazy). Run it. Then submit some HTML forms.

Fiddler works as a proxy and lets you see exactly what data is being sent and received. You can view the raw requests, including HTTP headers if you want to.
