Iphone for Vodafone

Not sure if this is the best place for this but Its the only board i could think off. It looks like the iphone is going to be released on Vodfone in early 2010 but I was wondering if anyone knew if you had to take an Iphone contract to be able to use the phone? I have a contract with Vodafone already and it has lots of free mins and texts and unlimited internet etc for ?35 per month. I am happy with this as I never pay more than ?35 a month but use my phone all the time. I have seen the price of orange contracts and O2 contracts for the iphone and I wouldnt want to be paying those sorts of prices for what Ive got now. Can I use my simcard in a vodafone Iphone and it will work or do I have to get a new contract?

Any input would be good thanks
