Installing Visual Studio through WINE?

The only reason I have Windows XP on my laptop these days is for Visual Studio and Expression Studio.

I was just wondering whether anyone had had any luck installing either of these two on any Linux distro through WINE?

Never attempted it but it would be a horrible environment to test your applications on. You'd always have to wonder if a bug was due to your software or due to WINE.

Hmm yeah that's true.

Damn, guess that means that I'll just have to keep the dual-boot setup :(

Why not try VMWare or Virtualbox?

I still keep a Windows box around just to run Visual Studio. I wouldn't trust this in VMware, even on a beefy ESX server or in Fusion on my Mac with 8GB of RAM (and 3GB or more dedicated to XP running Visual Studio). I certainly wouldn't trust WINE.

Yeah I guess I'm better off running it on Windows really. I suppose there are also the benefits of having Internet Explorer 8 and Microsoft Expression running in their native environments too.
