iPod Video with no sound? Get a free one, no matter condition or age

My nephew gave me his old 3 yr. old iPod because there was no sound. I took it home, took it apart scratched it up, and even to the point that the case wouldn't close anymore. I was about to throw it away, when I found this:

If you press down HARD in the bottom right near the click wheel, and the sound comes on, you have one of the defective ones.

I called Apple support, after a 15 minute phone call, they got my information and overnighted a shipping box. Within 3-4 days, I had a BRAND NEW iPod sent to me at no cost.
