Heliosintrism
thinking of upgrading to this cpu ive checked a few things to make sure its compatible but i wanted to make definitively sure that itll work since newegg doesn't do refunds. heres the specks for my current cpu and the one im thinking about buying current: CPU Properties: CPU Type Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo T7250, 375 MHz (10 x 38) CPU Alias Merom-2M CPU Stepping M0 Instruction Set x86, x86-64, MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3 Original Clock 2000 MHz Min / Max CPU Multiplier 6x / 10x Engineering Sample No L1 Code Cache 32 KB per core L1 Data Cache 32 KB per core L2 Cache 2 MB (On-Die, ASC, Full-Speed) Multi CPU: CPU #1 Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz, 1994 MHz CPU #2 Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz, 1994 MHz CPU Physical Info: Package Type 479 Ball uFCBGA / 478 Pin uFCPGA Package Size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm Process Technology 8M, 65 nm, CMOS, Cu, Low-K Inter-Layer, 2nd Gen Strained Si Core Voltage 1.050 - 1.288 V I/O Voltage 1.050 - 1.288 V upgrading too: General Brand Intel Series Core 2 Duo Model BX80576T9600 CPU Socket Type CPU Socket Type Socket P Tech Spec Multi-Core Dual-Core Name Core 2 Duo T9600 Operating Frequency 2.8GHz FSB 1066MHz L2 Cache 6MB Manufacturing Tech 45 nm 64 bit Support Yes Multimedia Instruction MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4, EM64T Voltage 1.050V-1.162V Thermal Design Power 35W
SuperHumanly
Well, that processor will NOT underclock to 800MHz FSB, so make sure your laptop motherboard can do a 1066MHz FSB without overclocking. And because it's going from 65nm to 45nm, you will most likely need to perform a BIOS update as well, but both of them are Socket P processors, so it will physically fit. Heliosintrism
ok i found a different one, pretty sure this one will work since the fsb is the same and i looked up on forums about people putting it into the laptop i have but i wanted a expert opinion. i guess this is the fastest processor for socket p at 800 mhz fsb. thanks for your help. upgrading to: Processor Number T9500 # of Cores 2 # of Threads 2 Processor Base Frequency 2.6 GHz L2 Cache 6 MB Bus/Core Ratio 13 FSB Speed 800 MHz FSB Parity No Instruction Set 64-bit Embedded No Supplemental SKU No Processing Die Lithography 45 nm Max TDP 35 W VID Voltage Range 1.000V-1.250V 1ku Bulk Budgetary Price $530.00 Package Specifications TJUNCTION 105?C Package Size 35mm x 35mm Processing Die Lithography 45 nm Processing Die Size 107 mm2 # of Processing Die Transistors 410 million Sockets Supported BGA479, PGA478, PPGA478 upgrading from: CPU Properties: CPU Type Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo T7250, 1800 MHz (11 x 164) CPU Alias Merom-2M CPU Stepping M0 Instruction Set x86, x86-64, MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3 Original Clock 2000 MHz Min / Max CPU Multiplier 6x / 11x Engineering Sample No L1 Code Cache 32 KB per core L1 Data Cache 32 KB per core L2 Cache 2 MB (On-Die, ASC, Full-Speed) Multi CPU: CPU #1 Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz, 1994 MHz CPU #2 Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz, 1994 MHz CPU Physical Info: Package Type 479 Ball uFCBGA / 478 Pin uFCPGA Package Size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm Process Technology 8M, 65 nm, CMOS, Cu, Low-K Inter-Layer, 2nd Gen Strained Si Core Voltage 1.050 - 1.387 V I/O Voltage 1.050 - 1.387 V
