Windows Hosted Blog Software?

Question

Hi everyone. I have a 1&1 Windows hosted package and contacted them about blog software so that I could put a blog on my site. They told me that I could only do this with Linux hosting and that didn't seem to make sense to me, so I figured I would ask everyone here since everyone is so knowledgeable...

I can't go with Linux hosting as I would like to take advantage of Asp.Net in future websites...

I was wondering if anyone knew of good blog software that I could use with my Windows hosted package. I would like something that allows me to customize the look and everything. I would use my own domains and would like to be able to store it on my hosted plan on 1&1. I've never used Blog software before, so I'm not sure how it generally works. I don't know if you generally publish blogs from some sort of log in console, or from the desktop via ftp... I would be O.K. paying something, but would prefer something to be reasonably priced at least. Free of course is great, but not necessarily necessary if the features are there and it's priced well. I do have Dreamweaver, but I didn't see a way to do blogs in there... Unless I missed it.

Thanks Again everyone. :)

Wordpress is highly customizable, once installed you can updated it and post blogs via an admin interface.

You can even update Wordpress to the latest version by pressing a button in the admin panel.

I presume you have PHP + MySQL on your windows hosting package so it should work fine.

Thanks everyone. I will definitely take a look at BlogEngine.Net... I really appreciate all of the helpful responses.

How much setup is required if you don't mind my asking... I've never set something like this up before, so I'm not sure really what I'm looking at. I do have Visual Studio for application development, but have never made an ASP.NET site before (I would like to play around with that at some point though). Would I need to make changes there, or does BlogEngine.Net build the blog itself? I just downloaded it now and am going to try to read up and see if I can understand what all I have to do. I really can't wait to be able to get this up and running, but I'm not sure how long that's going to take me... lol

Thanks Again for all of your help everyone. :)
