Im gonna try Dropbox I am always uploading stuff and this seems really easy!I have seen it before but never signed up.. this is the time. Can you share files from your dropbox to friends etc?

Use Megaupload and forget anything else.

1GB files work fine, download 1MB/s or more for free users, works fine EVEN without paying anything. :)

If you will constantly delete what you share, Dropbox would do you good, I guess.

Megaupload has no client as far as I am aware though? I love the idea of having an icon on my desktop I can just drag and drop files too that seems way to easy to be using a web interface! Do you agree?

Then Your best bet is Dropbox. Just drag files into the Dropbox Public folder, right lick an select get link. Give that link to your friends. Thats it! smile.gif

I love dropbox, too bad has a 2gb limit :(

Um thats you just being too lazy to get referrals, etc. I currently have 5GB of space for FREE.

And the limit of the file size is based upon your total storage available

Is there a limit or maximum to how big my files can be?

Files uploaded to Dropbox via the desktop application have no file size limit.

Files uploaded through the website (by pressing the upload button) have a 300 MB cap. In other words, each file you upload through the website must be 300 MB or less.

All files uploaded to your Dropbox must be smaller than the size of your Dropbox account's storage quota. For example, if you have a free 2 GB account, you can upload one 2 GB file or many files that all add up to 2 GB. If you are over your storage quota, Dropbox will stop syncing until you are below your limit.

edit: BTW with sharing with friends -- you can also share folders between dropbox accounts vs public share link.. Ie my sons are both away at school - I have a matt folder and a sean folder.. Whatever I put in those folders shows up in their dropbox -- and they have it on their machine.. No need to even go download anything - it auto downloads it to their machine when I put anything in those folders. Same goes if they need to send me something.

And when move it out of the folder - then I know they have gotten it, etc. Because it deletes it from my folder.

I wound up using dropbox. I was actually looking for something that wouldn't require an account or a client but my friend was cool with setting everything up so it was no problem.

Thanks again.

You friend doesn't need a client just for future reference. If you drop the file into your public folder it creates a public link. Right click the file go to get public link and voila!
