Looking for an Irish love song

Long shot here.

I'm looking for an Irish love song, that used to be played quite often on Terry Wogans early breakfast show.

The song is sung by a male. It has the sound of a banjo, and I think the Irish flute in between each verse.

I think part of the words were "I love you because...." or "I love you for a thousand million years..." <---for some reason that line is in my mind but I could be wrong on that.

I think it's a bit of an oldie too.

If someone into Irish music knows what it may be I would be very greatful. I've looked everywhere to no avail.
