team_NOOB
Over the last few days I've noticed a significant change in my internet connection, for example: youtube videos downloaded incredibly slow to the point where I had to let it load a fair bit before I started watching and also I noticed that images wouldn't fully download on a website. Also podcasts wouldn't download completely either. Would get about half way, hang for ages and then just throw up an error. Then today it got really bad, images on a page would load like this: and then when I saved the image to see if there was a difference to viewing the image and downloading it, i got this: I haven't changed any of my settings, no new applications installed. Is it my ISP or something else?
s1k3sT
I've never seen this problem before, but first thing I would do is run tests on the ram and hdd. Guess it could be an ISP issue...
+John Teacake MVC Posted April 15, 2011 MVC Share Posted April 15, 2011 That does not look like an ISP issue. Mem and CPU tests would be a good idea but then if that was the problem it would affect alot more. Spyware Scan just to be on the safe side. team_NOOB
Oh k thanks for the feedback - hmmm what's a good program to do some memory and cpu scans on a mac? Edit: I ran the 'verify permissions' tool and all these java issues came back, tried to repair but not all of them could be repaired :\ Maybe this should be moved to Apple section.. ozgeek
is your internet service capped? That happens when you hit your download/upload limit. When you hit the limit, your speeds slows down to almost dialup speeds. And you get that slow loading on youtube and picture loading. You would know you get capped when your ISP (well they should) emails you that you have hit the limit. They also email you at 50%, 75%, 90% to warn you to watch your usage limit. articuno1au
Clearly an operating system issue.. You should try Windows ;) If the version of Flash you are running is 10.1 or greater, I would be inclined to say it's a graphics issue. My understanding (I may be wrong, I'm more of a Windows boffin) is that Mac use OpenGL to render images in natively.

LOL I know what capped means :p but nah I'm not capped.. Clearly an operating system issue..
