Yeah it depends on a lot...

for example, a video I took from my Canon T2i at 1080p (30fps) is about 20gb/hr. So in theory a 8gb card would only hold about 23-24min.

You'll want more than 8GB if you're filming at 1080p. I have a 32GB card and I can record about 4 hours of 1080p.. so thats about 8GB/Hr of AVCHD

yep, Team has unveiled a 2TB card already! The speeds of SDXC are also crazily fast, pc's will probably use these instead of harddrives in the not so distant future.

IMO they eill be surpassed greatly by HP's 3nm Spintronic Memristor storage. It's fast, stackable, cheap to fab and is almost 1 year into a 3 year market schedule with a fabricator.

memristor has only been shown as a prototype, i don't believe they have sample units available, it may be years until that comes to market, by which time there will be newer SD formats available. Sure memristors may be the used for the next few decades but they likely won't be available for quite some time.

Where did you see that Team Group had unveiled a 2TB card? Can't find any info about that anywhere...

1080p isn't the factor you should be looking at. The bit stream is what matters. If it is 1080p video shot at 8 Mbps, then you could hold 34 minutes of video.

If it is shot at 24 Mbps, then you could hold 11 minutes.
