Please Double Check My Build Configuration =)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I haven't messed with the internals of my computer in what feels like ages, and I just want to double check that the new components I have picked out will be compatible as to successfully bring my computer back to 'new' status to prepare for more gaming.

Components I already have (that will be re-used for the new build):

DVD-RW Drive

Blu-Ray Burner

3x SATA HDD

Case (Antec Nine Hundred Two Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case)

PSU (OCZ GameXStream OCZ850GXSSLI ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 850Watts Power Supply)

CPU Cooler (ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 PWM 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler)

New Components Picked out on Newegg.com:

CPU $220 (Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I52500K)

Motherboard $160 (ASUS P8P67 PRO (REV 3.1) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard)

GPU x2 for Crossfire $2x140 (ASUS EAH6850 DC/2DIS/1GD5/V2 Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card)

RAM $60 (G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXM)

Thoughts?? I appreciate the once-over!

Looks good to me. Why not use the stock cooler that comes with the CPU? If you want to overclock, I really love my Corsair H80.
