AT&T U-Verse. Looking for opinions, and deals, please.

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I currently use Comcast (yuk) and just got a notice that AT&T U-Verse

is now available in my area. First, does anyone have experience with the

service that can give me a run-down on your experience with it? (Lag in

games, loss of service- TV and Internet, etc.)

Also, if it's worth the change, anyone familiar with how to get the best

deal? Over-the-phone, or internet sign-up?

Thanks in advance!

My friend has U-Verse (in CT) and for the internet side of things that's all fine. Lag/ping all depends on routes to the server you are connecting to so location A might be great and B might take more hops. TX is AT&T's home however so i would think it should be their best market? :ermm:

TV stuff to me looks great, good quality HD. i like the setup of the equipment - CAT6 cables makes it nice and neat. Loss of service, well i'm sure you'll hear varing results on this too. They have the whole 30day thing so just keep your current comcast and have them put the U-Verse side by side and see which works better.

Personally in CT I've had better overall speeds and ping with (yuck) Comcast, as much as I liked the U-Verse TV service their internet options were lackluster to me, Comcast has better speeds here, mu ATT was supposed to be 25D, I was lucky to get 15 on a good day, ping to WoW was horrible, it was all over the place, wired and wireless, Comcast fixed that for us and we average 40D during Prime Time.
