92 Open Source Apps That Replace Everyday Software

Recommended Posts

I don't really care if my software is open source. If I'm looking for software, I look at a number of things (in no particular order):

General feature set

Usability & documentation

UI consistency with OS

Compatibility/file handling

Integration/use of OS features

Speed and stability

Security

Cost

most look like ****... I know you may argue functionality over looks but shouldnt an app look good and be like its from at least 2010 not 1995. This is the same problem open source software developers always have and really needs to be fixed. Maybe sometime out of the mothers basement would do them wonders

I use Gimp exclusively now. It has more functionality then Photoshop IF you get ALL the plugins/extras for it. But that is just me.

Me too. The Gimp and Inkscape fulfil all my graphical needs.

I use LibreOffice. It is the best in my opinion.

I like the progress so far with LibreOffice. It seems to be doing better now that it's out of the grasp of Oracle.

A little free advertizing. . .maybe. . . :D
It's free and open source. You can't blame anyone of "advertising". Especially if it fixes a dozen Windows annoyances. :)
