Anybody have any Windows 7 batch scripts?

What I need are scripts that deletes useless files/folders to slim a Windows 7 system down and disables useless services. I know I can use Black Vipers site to disable services, but I really do not want to do it manually. As for slimming down a Win7 install, I could also find a guide to do it manually, but as above, I don't want to do it manually.

Any help would be appreciative.

Useless would depend on what you use and what you don't (hence often require manual doing), but out the of box you should be pretty slimmed down. Services, as many as possible out of the box, are set to "automatic (delayed) start" so that they only start when needed.

Useless as in mainly unused languages. We only need English. Fresh install was over 12gigs for Win7 HomePrem. It should have been less then that.

I already slimmed it manually to under 7.5gigs. Maybe I will just dl vlite and remove all the unnecessary files/folders that way.

Well crap! Does anyone have a reg script to restore Win7 HomePrem registry back to default? I have done so many tweaks to it and ended up with a mess.

then try restoring from a backup....

then reinstall Windows.

Wow! That was a whole lot of help. Just like your last reply to me. Let me also try deleting the system32 folder. Geez!

Glad to see all that mucking about to save a couple Gb of drive space worked out for you as a real time saver..... You aren't making your system any lighter or faster by deleting 'unnecessary' system files.

A sfc scan should restore the registry keys that are in error.

Got the registry fixed. :p Installation is now only 2.4gigs, including all my apps. Everything is running great.
