Hi. I just noticed today, Swype tends to consume a lot of data! I am running ICS on my phone, and saw that Swype has downloaded over 200MB of data in a span of 1 week!

Is this happening for anyone else?

Uninstall and reinstall? I've not had this, but check which version you're on and see if there's been many automatically-updated updates released which could have used the data.

Ok, will try removing and then installing it again. How do I check how many updates have been applied? I am currently on version 3.26.92

Not sure on updates data usage but http://handheld.soft...log-107707.html lists versions/changelog, perhaps check back if you see its using data and see if there's an update it recieved. Also the Swype forum may help, it's annoying they don't use the Market.

Swype doesn't support ICS properly yet! http://www.androidce...-cream-sandwich
Which might be the reason you're seeing a lot of data transfer... failing connections or something.

Thanks for that link dancedar. :) I think I know what caused the high download volume! "Enabled language downloads for over 50+ languages". I can't think of any other reason, as I installed Swype around 10 days back only. I tried posting in the forum, just couldn't get this image to upload! Will try again using a link to an image host.

Ahh, that also probably explains it! Didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up cybertimer2008. :)
