Why not create a US account JorgeIvan?

Suprised to actually see a browser update for this thing, been years since they did any work on it. Though I guess I can't say I really use it much, but it'd be nice to have it working half decently when I do.

I've been saying for a while now that they should either fix or get rid of the web browser, it was nifty at first, and then it became so broken and outdated it actually took away from the attractive features of the console. Hopefully this makes it somewhat usable again.

Little bit more about the browser update

Yes 4.10 is out and it appears that webkit is being used. The desktop (by pressing the PS key) can be brought up and pictures can be XMB previewed...haven't tried anything else but it appears like the XMB is always loaded for the browser, this might indicate uses for XMB apps with the browser (communication between XMB apps).

No WebGL or HTML5 features like <video> yet....minimal GTK API which is to be expected as it's not finished yet.

No new chat, contact list, activity log/calender, no integration between applications...this is not the upgrade guys, it's just a patch to get the web browser functional enough for something Sony has planned.

That it now correctly displays web pages means it's most likely a minimal webkit port to the existing netfront browser front end, they could have done this anytime in the last two years...if webkit2 for security then anytime since Jan with GTKwebkit2 1.7, essentially this is probably the same unfinished webkit2 that the vita is using with the same lack of features.

Remember it's not just me that has provided information, androvsky too and to this point he is as correct as I am and if it goes no further than this, I was wrong on integration between applications and a browser desktop and he was correct.

In my opinion this is just a small part of what's coming, we might see a few more little updates but by Spring we should get the major update. Remember GTKwebkt2 API is not finished yet, Gstreamer 1.0 is not considered complete it's still called Gstreamer .11/1.0 which means it's somewhere between the unstable .11 and the finished 1.0 (Gstreamer is to be used for the HTML5 <video>). If you look at the Gnome browser Epiphany, it's supposed to have a completed GTKwebkit2 API integration before March 28.

androvsky just provided a link to confirm it's webkit in BY3D http://www.scei.co.j...ense/index.html

patsu in BY3D has confirmed: I'd also like to point out that Sony considers this a .1 minor update <grin>.

Folks. Check your PS3. Firmware Update 4.10. I have an inkling the WebKit web browser is finally here.

ACID3 score is 99/100 (Same score as Vita). Yes I just ran the test. ^_^

It was 27/100 before.

And JavaScript hasn't crashed yet. T_T

EDIT: I'll wait for someone else to confirm. Too busy right now. But sweet mother of God, it has been 6+ years in the waiting -- if true.

Google result page doesn't run out of memory now too.

Apparently DropBox works.

i don't want to lose all my trophies and game level.

Being as there are reports of this update breaking netflix and that is the primary use i have anymore for my ps3 i am not going to update for a while until the fixes have been made :p

i don't want to lose all my trophies and game level.

Any games you download on the other account you can still play on your main one. My friend plays all the PSN games I get through PS+ on his own account, so he earns all the trophies for himself.

How does it not? He creates a new account for the US, buys PS+ for that account and while he will lose out on the Avatars (as those are linked to that speicifc account), everything else you'll be able to access on any accounts on that system. So he just downloads them through the US PS+ account while playing them all on his Swedish account saving all his trophies while adding new ones as he plays.

I'm sorry but what? That's not making any sense to me. I have 4-5 accounts on my PS3 an all of them have their own trophies and PSN level, independent from one another. And no, they don't get wiped clean when I switch users.

Incorrect, he will not keep his trophies. Very easy way to test your theory (which I've just tried): XMB > Users > Create New User > OK > Login as User 1... trophies are gone.

no i'm pretty sure you don't understand. he would only login to the US plus account to purchase and download the games. once downloaded and installed, he would sign into his normal local account with all his trophies and play the games on that one. he would earn the trophies on his normal account.

this works, my wife and I do this all the time and maintain different trophy lists. my account is PS+, hers is not.

I don't know if it was just my PS3, but up until this update, anytime I tried watching a youtube video....from say, a site like http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/ (I love documentaries, lol!), every time, about 10 minutes into any video I tried to watch, my PS3 would freeze, no matter what I tried. I can now say that after this update, my PS3 no longer hangs! That's been my main concern, because it's way more comfortable to watch an online vid from the recliner, than go all the way over to my desk and watching it on PC....that's about the only thing I've noticed that's better. I just got home, and haven't got to play around with it too much yet, though. (I did the update, then had to leave, but I left a video playing in the background to see if I'd come home to a frozen system....all smooth, as the video was still playing when I returned.

Ah I get you now... apologies Boxster!

No installation needed. Just decompress the archive, launch the executable, and access computer-related information. Glow runs on Windows 11 and Windows 10 64-bit versions. Glow 26.10 changelog: New Features The bootstrapping algorithm has been completely redesigned. The software can now launch directly without requiring TS Preloader. As part of this change, the startup splash screen displayed during initialization has been removed. In addition, spikes in CPU usage have been eliminated, resulting in a more stable architecture with significantly lower memory consumption. The Microsoft Office detection infrastructure within the Operating System section has been enhanced. Additional detection support has been added for Office C2R (Click-to-Run) installations. Furthermore, the license status evaluation system has been improved, and the priority order has been revised as follows: Licensed > Grace Period > Other (NOTIFICATIONS, EVALUATION, etc.). Glow now includes preliminary support for Wi-Fi 8 technology, allowing more detailed information to be displayed for Wi-Fi 8-compatible network adapters. Glow now provides full support for Bluetooth 6.2. Adapters supporting Bluetooth 6.2 can be analyzed in greater detail and with improved accuracy. The disk distribution view in the Disk section has been modernized, replacing the traditional table layout with a new 2×2 card-based design. The TS Custom Controls module has been updated to v26.7. Thanks to the new custom controls, all Türkaysoft applications now offer a more modern and consistent user interface aligned with Windows 11 design standards. Bug Fixes Potential line-ending handling issues in the Office detection code within the Operating System section have been resolved. Additionally, the output format has been standardized to UTF-8 to prevent character encoding issues and ensure consistent data processing. Several stability and file management issues within the Debugging infrastructure have been addressed. Problems that prevented new log files from being created after Debugging was disabled, as well as issues causing debug records to be lost, have been fixed. File deletion and reaccess issues that occurred after file locks were released have also been resolved. In addition, a bug that caused newly recreated log files to remain locked after deletion has been eliminated. Unnecessary blank lines within debug logs and the extra empty line that could appear at the end of log files have also been corrected. A shortcut key conflict caused by assigning identical hotkeys to both the DNS Test Tool and the Donation page has been fixed. The DNS Test Tool can now be accessed using CTRL + Shift + D, while the Donation page is available via CTRL + Alt + D. Changes The service responsible for providing the Public IP Address and Internet Service Provider information in the Network section has been updated to use the ipinfo.io infrastructure. This change improves the accuracy and consistency of the displayed data. (No external requests are made while Hiding Mode is enabled.) Some terms in the Dutch and Korean language files have been updated to make them clearer and more user-friendly. [TS Updater] Before the update process begins, users are now prompted to choose whether they would like to view the release notes. Note: Always unzip the program before using it. Otherwise you may get an error. Download: Glow 26.10 | 1.8 MB (Open Source) Links: Glow Homepage | Screenshot | Github Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
