Twisted Metal demo

Recommended Posts

About last week... Fun as hell. Getting this first thing Tuesday.

As for the connection errors, just keep trying. This is a beta demo, so there are still bugs. It took me about 8 attempts yesterday to get into a game. Worth the time though, as this is Twisted Metal 2 HD :)

This.

You have to unfortunately keep trying. Would have been nice if they included a server browser, but it eventually does work. Just takes a whole lot of patience. Took me upwards of 15 minutes the other day.

And indeed as shakey said, the demo has been out awhile now, I posted about it somewhere in the Sony section last week.

Well I'll keep trying. I've never had this much trouble to enter a match before. Demo or otherwise.

From the TM blog, it seems some of the fault is from PSN... though hard to tell. But trust me, just keep trying. It is worth the wait to play. This game is going to be epic on the 14th.

Man, not sure why I swore an online pass was not needed for this game, but it definitely is. Even worse, I actually considered purchasing it, and when I went to do so, all I get was a message from the PSN store "there is nothing to download at this time." So MP is completely locked out for me, not even an option.

I am going to check out the SP I suppose and make a decision from there. It is currently $44.99 to keep it from Gamefly, so I may do so. Just have to really think about it.

Oh, so you've rented it and because of that you can't check out the MP because you have no pass? That's weak.

Yes it is, and I found out why I thought that was not the case...

So thanks EA, as if iirc they were they ones that way back introduced this awful idea of online passes, and to much of the industry has followed suit.

Really wish Jaffe had his way, as he was absolutely right...

Considering the game's focus on multiplayer, Jaffe argued that ensuring there are as few hurdles as possible to gamers getting online and enjoying the game is crucial for the long term health of the franchise.

"I'm okay with the fact that we might lose sales on this first game if, because of it, we generate a lot of fans that otherwise wouldn't have played the game. The online is so much the bread and butter of this game, so I'm okay with it because it means we're setting ourselves up for a possible return to the franchise one day."

Taken from that link above.

So yeah fmanchu, just realize if you rent it like I did, you need to purchase an online pass to play the MP.

Bought it full price out of love for the original on the PS, but I was almost 20 years younger then...this just isn't for me. I think it's crap, and the graphics don't look that great either. The cinematic cutscenes are amazing though. Really remind me of Sucker Punch. However, if this is the game that makes Jaffe think he can lord it over the entire industry, then the man must be delusional.

It looks like a this gen car shooter. I think it is amazing. Played splitscreen multiplayer with a friend yesterday for almost 5 hours straight. Couldn't get enough of it. The battles are insane when you have a full 16 player server.

My only gripe is not enough maps for online play it seems. Maybe you have to unlock more or something... but it seemed to be about 3 or 4 maps that were just on rotation from every server I played on. Oh, and the connectivity issues with joining a server need to get worked out. But other than that, once you are in a MP game, it is a blast. Rose from level 1 to level 7 pretty quick.

At least he provides some updates and on a persona level. Can't say he's not at least trying to do it right.

And apparently, the cars can do other things with their ults you may not know about. If you use Outlaw, while shooting his regular Special, if you keep pressing R2, it will also shoot grenades. If you use his 2ndary Special, it will shoot rockets when you tap R2. Roadkills 2ndary Special requiers you to charge it up 3 seperate times after pressing fire for it to shoot other missles and freezeray off... There's depth to how you can use all the cars... even though some may have what seems to be the same specials.

Will give it more time, maybe I'll like it. Did say the problem is me, I just don't enjoy this genre anymore even though used to love it in the past. However, I still maintain this game doesn't look or play much better than Vigilante 8, which was a downloadable title from what I remember.

    • So, recently, I saw on the news (yes, on this website) that Samsung is introducing features where it can provide education using AI-powered sets, and because of this, I got concerned about whether the AI gives out wrong info during education sessions, causing controversies in the process. What are your thoughts on this?
    • TCL's Bang & Olufsen soundbar is 40% off on Amazon by Ivan Jenic The TCL Design Series A65K is currently $299.99, down from $499.99. That's 40% off and $200 saved on a soundbar tuned by Bang & Olufsen, which is not a combination you'd normally expect at this price point (purchase link below). Bang & Olufsen doesn't typically show up in the sub-$500 category. The Danish audio brand is known for speakers that cost several times more, so having their acoustic tuning on a $300 soundbar is very appealing. TCL handles the hardware, B&O handles the sound engineering, and the result is what the company calls "accessible luxury." Still, accessible luxury isn’t full-fledged luxury, so don’t expect wonders. But this is a decent soundbar, nevertheless. The A65K is a true 3.1.2 channel system with nine physical drivers, including genuine up-firing height speakers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Many soundbars at this price simulate overhead effects through virtual processing, rather than actual hardware. So, you’re getting the real deal. The design is unusually slim for a system with Atmos compatibility. The bar is just under 2 inches deep and should fit beneath most TV screens. The wireless subwoofer is also compact at roughly 14 x 14 x 5 inches. Total output is 460W, and you can connect to the soundbar via HDMI eARC, Bluetooth 5.3, or USB. There are also eight sound modes through the TCL Home app and an AI calibration capability. Although it’s worth mentioning that AI capabilities in most of these devices are inconsistent, to say the least, and that shouldn’t be the biggest selling point. Still, at $299.99, the A65K is a strong buy for anyone who wants a soundbar that sounds and looks noticeably better than what this price range usually offers. And the Bang & Olufsen branding surely sounds nice - pun intended. • And he paid Joe Rogan $30M for podcasts. Terrible company.
    • I sure hope the AI does not give out wrong info during education
