So after speaking to a customer at work, we were chatting about this.

Would you prefer to have no brain (just stupid, obviously you can still function as a human) and be safe from a zombie attack OR would you prefer to have a very good brain (intelligent) and be a target for the zombies?

Obviously if you have no brain you wouldn't be eaten therefore would carry on as a human living around the Zombies. But then if you had a brain then you could have some sort of plan to protect yourself.

Possibly the question of the year.

For me, I'd chance it on having a brain because I could probably pretend like I don't have one but then I don't know if Zombies could smell the fresh flesh? Maybe make-up could cover it up.

Bill Murray survived among the zombies in Zombieland by pretending to be one. I'd prefer to have a brain though. I've got a 12 gauge shotgun, 30-06 hunting rifle, .40 caliber handgun and a .357 magnum, and I would love to see what those rounds would do to a zombie. Ya know, Monday is shotgun day, Tuesday is rifle day, Wednesday is shotgun with slugs day, lol. It'd keep it interesting.

I'd say for people like me, the zombie apocalypse would open up loads of business opportunities for armed escorts and things like that. Ya know you could pay me a monthly fee, and me and my buddies would keep overwatch of your house with the rifle and pick off any zombies that got close.

You've got me having all sorts of cool ideas now, lol.

Unless you have an army base full of ammo at your disposal I don't see how having loads of guns is going to be effective, all its going to do is create noise and attract more zombies.

Reloading ammo isn't difficult if you know what you need to make it. First thing I would do though in the event of something like a zombie apocalypse is pick up what ammo I did have, grab a couple buddies, and cordone off something like a Cabella's or a Wal-Mart. In there you've got food, clothing, ammunition, replacement guns, blankets, bottled water, books, anything and everything you could possibly need to survive and be comfortable for a very long time. I wouldn't be staying where I live now, I'm in an apartment complex, too many people too close together and not enough supplies to go around. Nah I'd cordone off a major store like Wal-Mart with a few buddies, run guard shifts around the building, and charge admission. Nobody gets anything without something of equal value to trade.

And no one else would have had that idea...

Well sitting at the house and "not" doing it for fear of running into another person sure wouldn't do you any good.

Supermarkets are the first things that are going to be trashed/raided in the event of a zombie apocalypse, assuming you get to one thats untouched realistically you arent going to have enough time to board up all the windows and block all the doors.

Plus what happens when you do it? Half way through another armed group decided that this supermarket should be theirs, not yours and tensions rise while at the same time zombies start picking you all off. If you're very serious about surviving a zombie apocalypse, like I am, I urge you to read:

Yeah I read it a while ago, very interesting read.

Rendezvous with a bunch of people near a lake, get supplies from the nearest city and get on the move to an old farm when things go messy.

What could possibly go wrong?

The owner of the farm could keep zombies locked up in the barm thinking they could be cured. The loose cannon of the group wants nothing better than to destroy them but you respect the owners wishes and do nothing....until one afternoon....

I'd rather have a brain and other resources (like that armored truck in that zombie film I can't remember the name of but doesn't matter because it's an armored truck). Also where do you work to get asked questions like that?

Depends on what type of zombie apocalypse we are talking about here.

Option One: Magical Zombie Apocalypse where zombies are not bound by the laws of nature. Specifically, they would never starve to death. In this case, it would never end and not being the target would be the best option.

Option Two: Realistic Zombie Apocalypse where zombies are bound by the laws of nature. This would imply they are nothing more than rabid animals looking for a meal. In this case, humans have been able to out perform other animals throughout history, so someone with a brain shouldn't have issues surviving this because eventually, without the possibly of breeding, the zombies would die off from starvation. Hence, give me a brain.

    • I'm still rocking iOS 25.x on my primary phone cuz iOS 26 still has usability quirks (mostly aesthetic and thus its UX) which I don't wanna deal with -- and I've been piloting them with all of these updates on my backup phone, so I'm well aware of its "improvements" since iOS 26 was first released (compared to version 26.5.x).
