System information tool for desktop? (like Samurize?)

So I've been looking for something to prop up the desktop with some useful stuff like system info etc. I've been looking around and stumbled upon Samurize. It seems to be what I'm looking for but I've noticed that the last release was back in 2007... Are there better alternatives out there?

Same concept you can make custom tools with it. Lots of tools available with it as well.

Yeah rainmeter is your best bet, there are tonnes of skins for it on deviantart :)
